FiveM Entity Spawn Flood Protection (Ped & Object Spam)
An entity spawn flood is one of the fastest ways to take a FiveM server down, and it does not need an exploit in your scripts to work. A single cheater with a menu can ask the server to create thousands of peds, props, and vehicles in a couple of seconds, and the game engine dutifully tries to track and replicate every one of them. The result is a frozen session, a wall of rubberbanding players, and often a hard crash.
How a spawn flood crashes a server
Every entity in a FiveM session is state the server has to own. When an entity is created it gets a network ID, a position, an owner, and it must be replicated to every player in scrip range. Spawn a handful of props and nobody notices. Spawn fifty thousand peds in three seconds and the server thread that handles replication chokes: tick time climbs from a couple of milliseconds into the hundreds, OneSync starts dropping updates, and players see the world stutter or stop. Push it further and the process runs out of memory and the entire server restarts, kicking everyone. The attacker spends almost nothing, you lose the whole session.
Why naive entity caps are not enough
The obvious answer is "cap the number of entities," but a flat server-wide cap punishes everyone and still lets the flood do damage before the cap is hit. A legitimate roleplay scene can have a lot of vehicles and props on screen, so a low global cap breaks normal play, and a high one lets a flood spike your tick time long enough to crash you anyway. The damage is already done by the time a global counter notices. The unit that matters is not the server total, it is how fast a single source is creating entities. That is the signal you have to act on, and you have to act on it before the entities replicate.
What actually stops spawn floods
- 1. Per-player rate limiters. Count entity creation per source and give each player a safe budget for peds, objects, and vehicles per window. A legitimate player never trips it, a flood trips it instantly.
- 2. Reject at creation, not after. The request must be denied before the entity gets a network ID and replicates. Cleaning up after replication is already too late.
- 3. Quarantine the source. When a player floods, isolate them and purge the entities they just created so the spike never reaches the rest of the lobby.
- 4. Keep the flooder out. A confirmed flooder should hit a global ban network and HWID identity enforcement so they cannot rejoin on a fresh account and try again.
How Fiveuxe handles entity floods
Fiveuxe is server-side, so its Entity Protection module sits at the point where entities are created and enforces per-player rate limiters on peds, objects, and vehicle spawns. The moment a source exceeds its budget the request is rejected and the player is quarantined at source, so the flood never replicates out to the lobby and your tick time stays flat. The same module includes vehicle spawn control and weapon spawn detection, covered in our weapon spawn detection guide. A confirmed flooder is propagated into the Hive-Mind global ban network and rejected across 100+ servers in about 0.3 seconds, with Shadow-Link HWID enforcement keeping them off a new account. Because the agent is server-side with a sub-millisecond client component, none of this costs your players any FPS. For the wider picture on keeping a session alive under attack, see our server crash protection guide.
Stop floods on your server
Per-player rate limiters reject a flood at creation and quarantine the source, so your tick time stays flat. Paid plans start at $39 a month.
FAQ
What is a spawn flood in FiveM?
It is when a cheater forces the server to create thousands of entities like peds, props, or vehicles in seconds. The server has to track and replicate each one, so the flood spikes tick time and memory until the session freezes or crashes.
Does Fiveuxe stop ped and object spam?
Yes. Per-player rate limiters on peds, objects, and vehicles reject the flood at creation and quarantine the source. That ships on every paid plan, since nothing is held back for a higher tier.
